Teaching My Kids About Resilience
Share
As a single mom, I often worry about how my challenges affect my kids. But I’ve realized that by showing them my resilience, I’m teaching them to be strong too. They watch how I face struggles, and I hope they see that it’s okay to fall as long as you keep getting back up.
One day, my 4-year-old said, “Mommy, you’re strong like a superhero!” It made me laugh, but it also made me proud. In his eyes, my efforts weren’t invisible—they were heroic.
I hope my boys learn that resilience isn’t about never failing; it’s about always trying. And in showing them my journey, I’m giving them the tools to navigate their own.
